SEBBAR, Leïla & DE JAGER, Marjoljin. (trad.), DONADEY, AnneUne Enfance algérienne: An algerian Childhood: a collection of autobiographical narratives (Traduction)
This anthology offers the work of French, Algerian, male and female, Muslim, Jewish and Christian people who, through their writing, congregate to recount childhood stories about growing up in this region of Northern Africa, experiences that bind them as humans. Sebbar uses literature to cultivate an imaginary territory that does not yet exist within Algeria: a public ground based upon reconciliation and respect of differences. Some of the many contributors include Hélène Cixous (published in the USA), Mohammed Dib, Malek Alloula, Jean-Pierre Millecam, Fatima Gallaire. |
